Dear Kitah Gimel 1&2 Families (3rd Grade),
Thank you so much for joining us for Multi-Generations Day! It was wonderful to see everyone on the same screen, and even say hello to family members from out of state! We loved playing games together and giving our students a chance to show off everything they have learned so far this year.
In Sofya’s Hebrew class, students learned these words to read to write and to speak:
תחת, פה, בטן, יד, אף, גב, עיניים, שולחן, נעליים, דלת, לוח, לתרגם, אני, ב , בית, ילד, ילדה, ירושלים, מלך, שלום
אני צריכה עזרה בבקשה. I need help please

We celebrated finishing our Hebrew book I Can Read Hebrew, and started our new book The Hebrew Siddur Program, Book 1, where we have already completed up to page 9. I am very interested in all of the students' progress, with a focus on their Hebrew reading and growing comprehension.
In Polly’s class, students finished their third unit of the year - the Jewish Calendar! We discovered the date of our Hebrew birthdays, learned the names of the Hebrew months with Rachel Cole’s “Months Song,” and created our own Jewish Calendar in our journals with dates that are important to us. We also learned how the Israeliites used the moon cycle to track the days in the month. It was exciting for us to be able to look at the moon and know what time of the month it is!
Over the next few weeks we will learn about Hanukkah. Look out for more information about our Kitah Gimel Family Hanukkah Hagigah on Sunday, Dec. 13th!
We are so thankful for your continued support and enthusiasm for our classes.
B’Shalom,
Polly & Sofya
GIMEL 3
Dear Kitah Gimel (3rd grade) Parents,
We had a very successful Multi-Generation Day. It was wonderful seeing everyone! The students were excited to introduce their extended families and to demonstrate to their extended families how well they are learning.
Your students are working with Bonny Wexler, strengthening their reading skills while reading stories, learning basic vocabulary, and learning basic grammatical rules. As their reading continues to improve, the students will study more advanced reading rules and practice prayers and blessings that make use of these new skills.
